E46 Trunk Lid Wire Harness

The stock E46 trunk lid wiring is built into the chassis harness and has to be fished out of the trunk lid and back into the trunk lid. Although all of the stock wiring in the E46 trunk lid could be removed, some people will keep the reverse lights. When installing rain lights on the E46 we found the best way to route the wiring is similar to the stock wiring through the cable grommet and fished into the trunk lid. We then offer an optional Trunk Lid Disconnect which adds Deutsch connectors onto the wiring before exiting the chassis and therefore the wiring can stay in the trunk lid if you ever need to remove the trunk lid in the future.

A prime example for this is a Spec E46 with a stock trunk lid for Spec E46 rules, and a separate truck lid with a spoiler for non-Spec E46 events such as AER or WRL.
