We recently had requests to save this wiring from chassis harnesses that are being thinned for a race car. We’re aware that this wiring varies between different years and/or models but we’re not sure why as the Bi-Xenon Activation wiring was either kept as-is or removed per request. As we continue to save more of this wiring we may able to better distinguish what years and/or models had what Bi-Xenon Activation wiring, but until then it will be up to you to order the correct harness for your car. If you are able to shed any light on this topic please let us know.
This is the complete, uncut, 3-wire Bi-Xenon Activation – Right wire harness removed from a LHD E46 chassis harness that was being thinned for a racecar. This wiring can be added to another E46 to retrofit Bi-Xenon headlights.
This wire harness includes the X10107, 3-pin, Black connector that will plug into A106 – Xenon Headlight, Left and has loose wires that will go to the X183, Comb Splice, TXD – Above Fuse Box; X12, 54-pin, Black connector of the A3 – Light Switch; and Ignition Switched Power from Fuse 32 (5A).
Note:Â Both the Left and Right 3-wire Bi-Xenon Activation wire harnesses have
Wiring Details:
- – 0.35 mm² White/Violet – X183, Comb Splice, TXD – Above Fuse Box
- – 0.50 mm² Yellow/Red- Light Switch X12-2
- – 0.50 mm² Green/Blue – X1447, Ultrasonic Splice, Ignition Switched Power from Fuse 32 (5A)
- Both the Left and Right 3-wire Bi-Xenon Activation wire harnesses have a Green/Blue wire that would normally go to this Ultrasonic Splice, with a third wire that supplies the ignition switched power from a second wire from Fuse 32. This third wire can be included by selecting the check box above. Only one of these wires are needed for the pair of Bi-Xenon Activation wire harnesses. Be sure to only select it once if buying both left and right wire harnesses.
- NOTE: Each fuse in the stock fuse box can have two wires coming from it, but the first wire has to use a special pin that allows the second wire to connect to it. If your single wire at Fuse 32 does not have this special pin then you won’t be able to add the second wire as it normally would be and you will need to splice these wires into the single wire from Fuse 32.
