The BMW X20 connector is the primary connector between the engine harness and chassis harness on several BMW models such as the E32, E34, and E36. This connector is also found on some Porsche engine harnesses such as the 911 997.1.
The OBDII E36 also has an X69 connector which is the same as this connector but uses a different keyway (the triangle in the middle) and has a gray lock ring. This X20 connector can plug into an X69 connector if you carefully remove the keyway from the X20 Engine Harness Connector. The keyway should not be removed from the Chassis Harness Connector as you will create a hole in the connector which can allow the elements to enter. If you are building a new wire harness this X20 connector can be used for X69 but you will not have the different keyways to prevent incorrectly connecting the X20 and X69 connectors.

Notes:
– All items within this connector kit are genuine items sourced from authorized distributors.
– There are pins available for 0.35mm² (22 awg) wire but they are not readily available and/or expensive so we opted to not include any in this kit. Filler wire or folding the wire conductor to be within the crimp area range will work.
